AIR FORCE ONE EMMISSIONS FROM FLIGHT TO COPENHAGEN CLIMATE CONFERENCE TO BE OFFSET BY LIMEGREEN EARTH

December 15, 2009 – LimeGreen Earth, Inc. announced today that it will offset the carbon emitted by President Obama’s flight on Air Force One to the United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP15 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The conference, which began on December 7, has brought together diplomats from 192 nations to discuss the global reduction of carbon emissions.

LimeGreen Earth applauds this global effort to further prevent climate depreciation and take steps to remedy the existing damage. We believe that President Obama’s leadership in Copenhagen will be imperative to achieving these goals.

LimeGreen Earth will plant 1176 trees to offset the carbon that Air Force One, a Boeing 747-200B series, will emit on its journey to the conference in Copenhagen.  President Obama will be traveling 3,979 miles, and Air Force One will emit an estimated 196 tonnes of carbon during that time.

The initiative to offset the carbon emissions of President Obama’s flight to Copenhagen is led by LimeGreen Earth President Andrew Thomas. ”By offsetting President Obama’s carbon emission, we are setting a precedent for the global community,” he says.  “It is up to every individual to do their part to eliminate carbon emissions. There is no one better to lead this revolution than the President of the United States of America.”

LimeGreen Earth is a privately held Canadian company based in Saint John, New Brunswick which specializes in offsetting carbon emissions. For more information on the company visit www.limegreenearth.com.
